Hillary Who?

For those of you who are like "Who is Hillary and where did she come from"? "And why should I vote for her"? Don't worry I will tell you everything you need to know about Mrs. Clinton! Let's start by going back a couple maybe even a few decades ago. Before she was Hillary Clinton she was simply Hillary Diane Rodham. She was born in Illinois, Chicago to be exact on October 26, 1947 at the Edgewater Hospital.

As a young girl, she did very well in school and participated in many extracurricular activities such as swimming and baseball. As she got older she stayed very involved with activities inside and outside of school.  In high school she participated in the student council and was involved with the newspaper; she was also selected for the National Honor Society. She graduated from Maine South High School in 1965 in the top 5% of her class. She was pretty damn smart huh!

Yeah we get it Hillary is smart, but... what's Hillary's political background, her experience and why should we consider voting for her? Like I said, I'll tell you E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G you need to know, just keep reading!  Sometimes it's our childhood and adolescences periods that shape us into the person we become.  Hillary's political views and developments were shaped mainly by her high school history teacher and her Methodist youth minister.  However, as she got older her views began to shift and change as she began to understand things more clearly.  What do I mean by that, well let me explain.  In 1965, Hillary enrolled in Wellesley College.  Beginning her freshmen year she decided to major in political science, she also served as the President for the Wellesley Young Republicans.  However as the years went on her views began to change due to the American Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War, she described herself as a "mind conservative and a heart liberal".  Hillary's final push over the edge that made her leave the Republican Party for good was in 1968 when Richard Nixon's campaign portrayed Rockefeller in ways she viewed as raciest.

In the year of 1974 Hillary was a member of the impeachment inquiry staff in Washington D.C during the Watergate Scandal.  Moving forward Hillary became the first female chair of the Legal Services Corporation in 1978.  As you can see even before she became the First Lady she did many things before she met Bill Clinton and after.  From 1993 to 2001 Hillary Clinton was the First Lady of the United States and from 2001-2009 she served as the United States Senator from New York.

So you ask me again, "why should I vote for Hillary"?  Well for one she is more than qualified from being senior class President of Wellesley College, graduating with honors from Yale Law School.  Being the co-founder of the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families and serving 8 years as the First Lady of the United States.  And let's not forget she served as the United States Senator from New York and as the United States Secretary of State, honestly the list is endless.  Another reason to want to vote for Hillary is her goals and values line up with yours.  Hillary understands the economic inequality and she wants to do something about it, she is PRO equal rights for LGBT Americans.  She supports American workers, and the ongoing challenge towards women equality.  And if you're still not convinced well if Hillary Clinton becomes president that means one, we will take part in history as being the first generation to have a WOMAN for president.  And two, by electing Hillary for president in 2016 that means that Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, and Rand Paul will NOT be president, and that alone is a good reason to vote for Hillary Clinton.

  1. Nice job showing where Hillary has come from and what her experience is in government. Do you think the issues with the Benghazi attack or her emails are going to derail her campaign? Or will she survive the primary with them?

  2. Thank you Tyler! And of course anything negative is going to be an obstacle, however looking at what Hillary is capable of doing and considering her background and experience I personally think she WILL be able to over come the obstacles you mentioned and that it wont derail her campaign.
